Stone of Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli has maintained its reputation as a first-class jade material. The colour resonates dark blue, purple blue, sky blue and green blue. The pure blue is reminiscent of the ocean, the sky, the universe, and calmness.

It is also one of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism; it is the body colour of the Medicine Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism and has the unique spirituality of natural crystal.

Looking after your Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is composed of a mixture of various minerals. There are inevitably cracks and crevices in the crystals. Therefore one must be additionally careful when wearing it to avoid bumps or squeezing and prevent it coming into contact with water or high temperatures. Natural lapis lazuli has different shades of colour. This is a unique beauty. The beautiful colour may fade in high temperatures or exposed to the hot sun in high heat environments.


There are two degaussing methods:

1) Mix fine Omori salt and mineral water into a cup or bowl, use a cloth and degauss the Lapis Lazuli daily for one month.

2) Use special large-grained degaussing salt; bury the lapis lazuli in the degaussing salt for three months at a time.

Alternatively, on can degauss using sea chrysanthemums; put the lapis lazuli in the centre of sea chrysanthemums and the demagnetization can be completed within 24 hours.

Note: Lapis lazuli is a granular aggregate composed of a variety of minerals, if soaked and washed with water, the dirt on the surface of the gem will penetrate into the interior, which will change the original brilliance of the lapis lazuli.
